What we collect, and why

When you book a seva we collect the names and gotra you want spoken in the sankalp, your email address, and your payment details. The names and gotra exist for one reason: so they can be said aloud during the rite. Payment is handled by Stripe and we never see or store your card number.

When you ask for the Saturday reminder we collect your email address, and nothing else unless the form asks for it. If a form asks for a name or a phone number, it says so on the form itself.

When you use the site we log the ordinary things a web server logs. Clicks on a link from one of our PDFs are counted per day, per link, with no address stored against them.

What we never do

We do not sell your details. We do not pass them to anyone for their own marketing. We do not publish the names given for a sankalp, and we do not use them in any example, testimonial or case study.

You can ask for an anonymous sankalp, in which case the rite is performed without your name being recorded against it at all.

How long we keep it

Your Seva Record is kept for as long as your account exists, because it is the proof that the seva was performed for you. Signup addresses are kept until you unsubscribe. Booking and payment records are kept for as long as UK tax and accounting law requires, which is six years.

Click counts carry no personal data and are kept indefinitely as plain totals.

Your rights, and how to use them

You can ask for a copy of everything we hold about you, and we will send it. You can ask us to erase it, and we will, except where tax law requires us to keep a payment record. Both of these are built into the system rather than handled by hand, so they are quick.

Every email we send carries an unsubscribe link that works in one click, with no login and no reply needed.

Consent

We record what you agreed to and when, along with the version of the wording you were shown. Nothing is ever pre-ticked. If you sign up for messages, you have said so explicitly, and we can show you exactly what you agreed to.

For an email address given on this site, we send one message asking you to confirm the address is yours before anything else follows. Until you confirm, nothing is sent.

Cookies

We use a session cookie so the site works while you move through a booking, and we keep your reading preferences for the devotional texts in your own browser rather than on our servers. Your recitation counts stay on your device and are never sent to us.

Who we are

This site is operated by Softomate Solutions Limited. If you are not satisfied with how we have handled your details you may complain to the Information Commissioner's Office in the United Kingdom.
